The major theme of the exhibition has much less to do with love than with the culture of the 1920s as a whole. In this exhibition, the various cultural elements reflected in The Great Gatsby which led to the downfall of the 1920s American Dream will be discussed, as well as their implications for the characters in the novel. . A thematic exhibition, rather than a traditional retrospective, this is HARAKAS HAUTE COUTURE first monographic show on a living designer.

Why the Association of Friends of Children with Cancer,"ELPIDA"
Making Life Better for Children with Cancer and serve as a leading source of support. We know that the effects of cancer can last long after treatment ends so we’re there to support both our survivors and our bereaved families. We also know that a cancer diagnosis can affect the entire family so our services extend to parents, caregivers and siblings.Cancer today still kills more children than any other disease. There are many very stubborn forms of childhood cancer which remain resistant to treatment.
So the point is clear: we must maintain the research momentum until all children with cancer can be offered the chance for a cure. This is especially important at this time, when recent advances in molecular biology have opened the doors to exciting new opportunities to benefit children and adults with cancer.
We must not forget that:
The implementation of the goals and visions of "ELPIDA" rely on initiatives and events which are either organized by the Association itself or are offered by agencies and private citizens. It is through these events – along with the donations made to ELPIDA – that both the creation and the maintenance of the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit (in operation since 1993 at the "Aghia Sophia" Children's Hospital in Athens) and the Guest House (which opened its doors in September 1999) as well as the gigantic work of constructing the First Oncology Hospital for Children (it was turned over in the summer of 2010 and inaugurated in October of 2010) have become a reality.
The benefits of bone marrow transplantation in treating cancer patients were documented in pediatric clinical trials;
The early combination of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy was pioneered and refined by pediatric cancer specialists;
The multi-disciplinary team approach to cancer treatment was developed in childhood cancer research trials.

"The Great Gatsby is a novel of tragedy.
In ancient Greek literature, a tragedy involved the downfall of a noble character with a tragic flaw (called hamartia). The Great Gatsby records the downfall
of two characters with at least some noble characteristics: Gatsby and American society. Their tragic flaws
are naive idealism and corrupt behavior."
Fitzgerald describes Gatsby, the main character in the novel, as a dream achiever, who islooking for wealth and property even he compare Daisy as an object of wealth. He had dreamedsince childhood to become rich and change his contemporary life during his childhood, thus his family and start looking for businesses. Gatsby ambition and enthusiasm for the wealthand property even led him to change his name from James Gatz to Gatsby to find a new identityfor him.
The Great Gatsby is considered the great American novel, because Gatsby embodies theinnocence of the American dream. Gatsby is a self-made man who believes he can climb thesocial ladder to the pinnacle of society. Gatsby does not believe in social boundaries: anything is possible because of his ability to recreate himself. The novel ultimately manifests the failure of American dream, as Gatsby is unsuccessful and his ultimate goal (Daisy) unattainable.
